Subjective Critique

At the first time I saw this picture, I just thought about it is too flat due to it does not have enough variety of colors. Also, the lines are not connected properly between each one. The picture does not transmit the sensation of dream, or in other word a person dreaming as it is explained on the description of the picture.

I consider that “The Dream” of Pablo Picasso, looks out rounds real human proportions, and the colors do not have enough value range. It looks more like a flat cartoon. In addition the position of the girl in the picture is not accurate to a real human anatomy. All of these facts make me feel uncomfortable with this piece of art, and for that reason, I want to change it, in order to create a more natural picture. 

To achieve this purpose I will to redrawing the entire picture giving adding more details to the background and to the girl in the middle of the frame. Also, I want to add more range color and change the proportion of the environment and the main character. 

Objective Critique

The Dream an artwork created by Picasso combines many round with abstract shapes to transmit a sensation of tiredness.

The shapes and form in the picture “The Dream” has been created using movement to give a sensation of swift stroke. Picasso in order to create contrast between colors; he used different white and reds producing an emphasis of the girl in the center of the frame. Also, the background was created using a pattern making looks with rhythm. The purpose of this is creating a contrast between the foreground and the background.
